ebrary and SME Launch World’s Largest Full-Text Database of Publications in Manufacturing Engineering

November 3, 2003 – Palo Alto, CA – Academic and special libraries can now offer researchers online access to the world’s largest full-text database in manufacturing engineering. ebrary (www.ebrary.com), a leading provider of information distribution and retrieval services, and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) at www.sme.org, the leading professional society supporting manufacturing education, today announced the availability of SME Source™, a highly interactive, full-text database containing more than 4,000 individual book chapters, journal articles, and technical papers.

Anchored by the nine-volume Tool and Manufacturing Engineers Handbook series, SME Source also includes recent SME books such as Fundamentals of Tool Design, 5th Edition, Spitler et al, 2003; A Guide to High-performance Powder Coating, Utech, 2002 and Lean Manufacturing for the Small Shop, Conner, 2001. Additionally, it includes journals such as the Journal of Manufacturing Systems (JMS) and The Journal of Manufacturing Processes (JMP). New titles are added quarterly at no extra cost during the subscription term.
