Question(s)/Issue(s):
I have Windows Vista/Internet Explorer 7, and when I go to sign in to my bookshelf, the browser either hangs up or crashes. What can I do?
Solution(s):
- Close all browser tabs/windows. Ensure the program is completely exited.
- Now, we will open a new browser. Right-click on the blue "E" icon
to open Internet Explorer and choose "Run as"
- In the box that opens, choose "Administrator" and click OK.
- Return to the ebrary site and sign in to your ebrary bookshelf.
- If you see a yellow bar along the top of your browser, right-click on it
and choose "Display blocked content".
If the above fails, try:
- In Internet Explorer, click then choose
- Click the "Advanced" tab, and near the bottom of the window click the button Restore advanced settings
- Click Apply and then OK and then try the ebrary software again.
- If that still fails, then perform steps 1 and 2 above, but instead of the Restore advanced settings, click the Reset... button.
- Click Reset on the warning page, and Internet Explorer will disable your add-ons.
- To re-enable your add-ons, including the ebrary Reader, click then choose
- Click each add-on in the list that is now disabled, and simply choose the add-on and then click "Enable" until you've enabled all the items in the list.
- After you perform each of the steps above, you will need to restart Internet Explorer for them to take effect.
