ebrary and Primis/McGraw-Hillebrary and Primis/McGraw-Hill are two different entities partnered to
bring the textbooks of McGraw-Hill and the technology of ebrary together so that
students can use textbooks online.
Accessing your Online Viewable DocumentTo access your online document, follow these steps:
Each time you want to view your book you want to log in to the Primis ebook website first. If you try to log in to the primis.ebrary.com site, you will not be properly authenticated and won't be able to view your book.
What does Views remaining mean on my Status bar?![]() The status bar, shown above, will list your username, your balance (which should always be $0.00), the views you have remaining and the prints you have remaining. Each online viewable document is given enough views to look at each page of the book approximately 4-5 times. For example, if a book contains 250 pages, the approximate number of views you would be given would be 1000-1250. You will notice this number decrease with each page you view. Many students inquire why there are limited views on the online viewable textbooks.
The reason the publisher does this is to prevent someone from reselling access
to the book or sharing it, which is a violation of copyright law. In addition to
view credits, you are also given print credits (see below), so you can effectively
print one copy of the book for yourself.
What does Print credits mean on my Status bar?![]() The status bar, shown above, will list your username, your balance (which should always be $0.00), the views you have remaining and the prints you have remaining. Each online viewable document is given enough print credits to print at each page of the book once. You will notice this number decrease with each page you print.
What do I do if I run out of views or prints? If you run out of views or print credits, please contact Primis for assistance in obtaining more. They can be reached either by:
They are open Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 5:00, Eastern Time (GMT -5).
What if I want to copy text instead of print pages?Copying text does not come included with the purchase of online viewing. You generally never want to put funds into your account while on the primis.ebrary.com site, but if you really wish to copy text you can do so. The price for copying is always listed under the book title in the left-hand frame while viewing a document. I forgot to sign in first to the Primis ebook website, and in the confusion I placed funds into my account on the ebrary site. How can I fix that? Please contact ebrary Support with the date of the transaction, the amount, and the name on the credit card used for the transaction and we can void the transaction or credit the card for the amount charged.
What do I do if I need to request a refund? When you purchase your ebook, you are making the purchase with Primis and not ebrary. If you need to discuss a refund, please contact Primis directly. They can be reached either by:
They are open Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 5:00, Eastern Time (GMT -5).
It's not printing the right pages! When you print from a Primis textbook, make sure you follow the page numbers you see in the black circles at the top or bottom of the pages; as those are the page numbers the book will use when printing from the ebrary Reader. McGraw-Hill renumbers the pages to their online books, and not all blank pages are numbered, hence the difference. |
