Duties of this challenging and never boring position include:
- Interfacing with US and international ebrary customers and colleagues to engage, deploy and support ebrary products pre and post sale.
- Provide ongoing support for customers and colleagues with any technical questions related to ebrary’s products.
- Create and implement customized components of ebrary’s products for customers and partners.
- Maintain a continuous communication loop between customers and other company departments.
Minimum job qualifications
- Four year college degree or a minimum of 4 years experience as an inside account manager, either in the library market or with an internet-based company.
- Personality - articulate, engaging, by phone and in writing. To our customers, you represent the company!
- Excellent phone and written/email communication skills.
- Experience answering customer inquiries via helpdesk ticketing systems (Kana, Remedy, RT, etc).
- Basic understanding of Internet and web technology.
- Competency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Self-starter-multitasker.
- Highly motivated and willing to learn.
- Excellent organizational/project/time management skills.
- A good sense of humor.
Skills that will give you a leg up on the competition:
- An MLS!
- Familiarity with federated search engines for library markets.
- Experience with library automation technology.
- MaRC record cataloging experience.
- Prior staff employment at an academic, public, or special library.
- Understanding of customer satisfaction measurements and processes.
- API/HTML programming experience.
- Macintosh platform familiarity/fluency.
- UNIX/Linux familiarity/fluency.
- Experience using SalesForce.com

Bibliographic Supervisor
ebrary's Content Services group is seeking an experienced Bibliographer to supervise all aspects of metadata production for our database products. Along with supervising day-to-day metadata, collection development and cataloging functions, this position will play a strategic role in developing service-oriented solutions to improve content discovery and integration within existing customer systems.
Qualified candidates must have experience with academic library missions in providing content to their patrons and must demonstrate an understanding of standards and trends in bibliographic control and library integration. An MLS (or equivalent experience, preferably in Technical Services or Acquisitions), along with a broad understanding of collection development and LC classifications as well as other subject taxonomies is required. Knowledge of content management and the publishing industry is preferred. Experience with bibliographic data management and MARC cataloging for electronic resources in accordance with national standards, along with impeccable attention to detail, is required. Strong Excel skills and FileMaker experience (or other database) is desirable.

Sales Assistant for International Sales
ebrary revolutionizes the way people conduct research by placing the world's largest collection of authoritative content on the web. ebrary software allows for secure online viewing of copyrighted content, and provides advanced tools to find, interact with, and acquire information efficiently.
We are looking for intelligent, unique, detail-oriented people, with a world view and inherent interest in learning, to join our growing International Sales Team. This is a full-time position working located in our office in Palo Alto, California, and reports to the Senior Director of International Sales. This is an entry-level position with potential for future advancement into a Sales role; this is a great opportunity for the right person!
You will be responsible for:
• Supporting field sales activities of International Sales Team and International Resellers based in multiple time zones
• Working in Salesforce™, updating accounts with current information reflecting our most recent field activities, and keeping account information accurate
• Qualifying and responding to incoming leads and interest
• Processing incoming International product trial requests
• Reviewing incoming purchase orders
• Executive administrative support
• Organizing & submitting expense reports for our outside sales team
• Maintaining our Partner/Reseller Portals with up-to-date sales tools
• Assisting with special projects as needed for the International Sales Team; to include managing sales reports, responding to International Reseller requests for information, sales promotions, etc.
Requirements:
• BA/BS from an accredited four-year university
• Great sense of humor and a “can do” attitude
• Previous experience working in a multi-cultural environment
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency in MS Office, specifically but not limited to Outlook, Excel and Word
• Excellent organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize workflow and be able to meet deadlines
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours when needed
Those with any combination of the following skills will be given interview priority:
• International work experience
• Book publishing or university-level library experience
• Written/spoken ability in Mandarin, Japanese, Spanish, or other languages
• Web, HTML or graphic design experience
• Advanced working knowledge with Excel
• Entry-level IT/IS experience
• Familiarity with Salesforce™
