ebrary InfoTools™ enables integration between multiple online resources, including other ebrary products, electronic resources from other vendors, your library catalog, information within your institution or on the web.

Best yet, the InfoTools menu can be customized to link end-users to the online resources of your choice!

Many of the InfoTools features can be activated simply by selecting words of interest in an ebrary document with your mouse. ebrary automatically provides a contextual link to additional, relevant information.

 

Sample InfoTools Functionality

Define Searches online dictionary definitions.
Explain Searches online encyclopedias.
Locate Searches online geographic databases and map websites.
Translate Translates selected phrases, sentences, or paragraphs to and from different languages.
Who Searches online biographies and bibliography databases and websites.
Search Document Searches the current document for key words and phrases.
Search All Documents Searches all documents in the ebrary database and creates an automated refined search to include/exclude previous search parameters.
Search Resources Searches the library’s ILS system and/or other online databases to which the library subscribes or owns. 
Search Web Searches any Internet search engine.
Search Video Searches the web or library for relevant video.
Search Audio Searches the web or library for relevant audio.
In the News Searches the web for news coverage.
Highlight Selected text in the document can be highlighted in yellow, pink or blue. Highlights are automatically stored on a personal bookshelf.   
Add to Bookshelf Places a link to the current document on a personal bookshelf. 
Copy Text Enables a user to select text with their mouse and copy and paste the text into Word, Wordperfect, Notepad, and email applications. The pasted text includes a bibliographic citation with a URL hyperlink back to the source.
Copy Bookmark Stores a URL to an eBook on a patron’s personal bookshelf.
Print Prints select pages.
Toggle Automenu Sets the InfoTools menu to automatically pop-up (or not) after selecting a word or phrase within a document.
Preferences Controls how certain ebrary Reader features appear including highlight colors, citation formats, and text links.
Help Opens ebrary's online Help.
About ebrary Reader Provides version information about the ebrary Reader™ software.
