Keynote Address on Results of the CIBER Survey Thursday, November 5, 10:45am to 11:30am, in the Carolina Ballroom at the Francis Marion Hotel Based on input from nearly 200 librarians, CIBER research group is conducting a global library survey to understand challenges, trends, and best practices in tough economical times. Co-sponsored by YBP Library Services and ebrary, the survey results will be presented for the first time during this keynote address and are expected to be of utmost value to libraries around the world. Let Me See That e-Book: Managing Cataloguing and Access through Collaboration Friday, November 6, 4:30pm to 5:15pm in the Calhoun Ballroom at the Francis Marion Hotel Electronic resources have become a vital part of research collections. However, the sheer number of titles involved has made providing digital access to electronic books through traditional cataloguing extremely challenging. This presentation covers the challenges that the University of Calgary has faced with electronic book cataloguing and its new‐found success in managing this cataloguing by partnering with Serials Solutions, Yankee Book Peddler, and ebrary, who will be represented by Director of Partner Relations Anne Harris. The focus is on the collaborative efforts made by all of these parties, and many individual publishers, to make electronic resources available on a mass scale through the library catalogue and beyond. e-Duke Books: What Have We Learned? Friday, November 6, 4:30pm to 5:15pm in the Gold Ballroom at the Francis Marion Hotel Duke University Press launched the pilot program for its e-Duke Books Scholarly Collection in 2008, with the full-blown launch in January 2009. This session brings together representatives of several of the stakeholders in the process. We will talk about what is working, what we did wrong, where changes have been made, and what we’ve learned. And we will allow time at the end of the presentations for audience questions and feedback on their experiences. ebrary will be represented by CEO Christopher Warnock. None required.
