+7 7172 70 62 55What are the trends and issues that impacted your decision to use ebrary?
The need for an affordable yet extensive and interdisciplinary book collection. Due to our library’s geographical location we are also trying to reduce the need for interlibrary loans by using ebrary books online.
What issues or problems has ebrary addressed at your library?
As a new library, we struggle to develop our book collection at a fast pace while at the same time maintaining high standards and breadth of coverage. ebrary helps us in providing access to materials that we cannot purchase in print – or haven’t purchased yet.
What do you and your patrons like best about ebrary's technology?
The ability to look at a title’s table of content and jump straight to a selected chapter is a good feature. Viewing the citation information pasted alongside the content is very convenient to as it helps students to avoid unintended plagiarism. I personally liked the Quick Guide videos a lot. Finally, searching within the text of the book is such a time saver for users! As an update, our users love the new feature of downloading selected pages from a book.
What is your favorite InfoTools feature?
Highlighting and creating notes are great because they make the experience of reading an electronic book much more personal (and help to remember things that you have read!).
What do you and your patrons like best about ebrary's content?
It covers a lot of subject areas that are not primary strengths of our print collection, for example Management or Regional Studies. Because of this, students use ebrary’s content a lot for their research projects.
What do your patrons think of ebrary?
Students like that they can find content for any area of knowledge. The ebrary interface is user-friendly, so there are usually less questions about how to find or use something on ebrary than in some other databases.
How does ebrary compare to other digital resources at your library?
It is useful to have a digital resource that provides unrestricted access to a broad range of electronic books from different publishers.
