903-923-2257What are the trends or issues that impacted your decision to use ebrary? • We have experienced an increased usage of e-books over the past ten years and our library has significant space issues. What issues or problems has ebrary addressed at your library? • ebrary provides our users with the ability to share titles with more students, therefore offering increased availability. What do you and your patrons like best about ebrary’s technology? • ebrary is easy to use. We especially like the capability to set up personal bookshelves, take notes, and highlight text. And, we like the ebrary DASH!™ component which allows us to add our own materials to the ebrary collection, making it more versatile and our collections much more easier to navigate. Another great feature is that you are able to search the full text of the book, not just the title/author/subject searches that are usually found in catalogs. What is your favorite InfoTools feature? • The highlighting and note-taking aspects are very useful ebrary features. What do you and your patrons like best about ebrary's content? • ebrary provides a rich source of information. The content is scholarly and covers a wide range of subjects. What do your patrons think of ebrary? • ebrary is a positive experience for our students and we have seen a steady increase in usage since we introduced ebrary in 2001. How does ebrary compare to other digital resources at your library? • ebrary is much easier to use than other e-book interfaces. Certainly the content and being able to read it as if it were a print book, instead of viewing it in separate URLs for each chapter is a definite improvement over some of the full text databases that treat book chapters like separate articles in a journal.
