Christopher Warnock
CEO and CTO
Prior to co-founding ebrary®, Mr. Warnock consulted at Stanford University, where he helped develop a method in which University Presses could implement an electronic workflow solution for the electronic distribution of publications. He also provided feasibility research for Octavo Corporation, which publishes and preserves rare books and manuscripts using advanced digital tools and formats.
From 1991-1996, he worked at Adobe Systems as a systems engineer, project manager, and product marketing manager for Adobe Acrobat.
Mr. Warnock holds a B.S. in Philosophy from the University of Utah.
Kevin Sayar
President
Prior to co-founding ebrary, Mr. Sayar worked with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati (WSGR), considered the U.S. leader in high technology start-up representation, to provide legal research and analysis on corporate securities litigation, intellectual property and technology transactions.
While attending law school, Mr. Sayar was an independent consultant to start-up businesses in early stage development. He specialized in strategic market penetration, business development and copyright issues on the Internet.
Mr. Sayar holds a J.D. from California Western School of Law and a B.A. in English from the University of California, Berkeley.
Christopher Radcliffe
Vice President of Engineering
Mr. Radcliffe leads the product development and delivery process at ebrary, balancing entrepreneurial drive with technical management methods. He brings 20 years' strength of direct experience in our key technologies: very large databases, internet delivery of complex content, and digital rights management.
Prior to joining ebrary, he led technical development and engagement management for Journeyman Software, an Internet consultancy which he co-founded, specializing in web-enabled data warehousing and strategic/technical assessment. Mr. Radcliffe was formerly VP of Network Platform Engineering with iBEAM Broadcasting, a streaming content delivery network, leading development and deployment of advanced edge delivery services via satellite multicast as well as terrestrial networks. This was one of the largest, highest-throughput streaming networks ever built.
He has also held senior management and software development positions with Informix, NeXT and InterTrust. He has contributed directly to the development of object oriented technologies, application frameworks and Internet application platforms, and shares key patents on embedded content protection.
Mr. Radcliffe holds an M.A. in Economics from The Claremont Graduate School, and a BA in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Leslie Lees
Vice President of Strategic Market Development
Mr. Lees oversees ebrary's content acquisitions, collection development, and content marketing, and works with the executive staff to develop and drive global strategies. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the publishing and information industry.
Prior to coming to ebrary, Mr. Lees was Director of Product Management for Knovel Corporation, where he was responsible for content acquisition and marketing as well as collection development and pricing for Knovel's prestigious collection of Science and Engineering e-reference books and databases.
Previously, Mr. Lees was Vice President of Content Development at SilverPlatter. He has also been with Princeton University Press and RR Bowker and has consulted for such companies as Cambridge Scientific Abstracts and Nstein Technologies.
Mr. Lees holds both an M.A. and B.A. in English from Cambridge University in England.
Gina McCue
Vice President, North American Sales
Ms. McCue is responsible for ebrary's North American sales team and Global
Business Development. She has vast experience in library product sales and
market development. Her previous roles included global sales and marketing
management positions at SilverPlatter Information, Ovid Technologies, and
Wolters Kluwer Health.
For the past 13 years, Ms. McCue focused on consortia arrangements, channel
Partnerships, and content product development for libraries and information
professionals. Prior to information and technology sales, she worked for
Abbott Laboratories in sales management.
Ms. McCue earned her B.A. From the College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, MA and participated in an executive program at the Kellogg School of Management.
Ian Hames
Vice President, International Sales
With nearly 20 years of sales experience in the publishing sector—half of which were spent in the online information industry—Mr. Hames has held senior sales management positions with companies including Ovid, Oxford University Press, and most recently Ingram Digital. He is a Modern Languages & Politics graduate from Sheffield City Polytechnic and has an MBA from Manchester Business School, both in the United Kingdom.
