Sales Coordinator, Western U.S.
ebrary is seeking a self-driven, enthusiastic go-getter to join our team as Sales Coordinator for the western U.S. academic library market.
Located in our Palo Alto, CA office, this full-time, entry-level position is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing, privately held company with thousands of customers and millions of end-users worldwide. This position is responsible for supporting the western U.S. sales team throughout the sales cycle, including helping close new business, and assisting in basic administrative functions as needed. Very little if any travel is required.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assigning, entering, and tracking leads
- Extensive phone calls and outreach to prospects
- Scheduling web demonstrations
- Handling requests for brochures, title lists, and other materials
- Helping close new business
- Communicating with customers
- Setting up trial and customer sites
- Liaison with ebrary's telemarketing, support, and finance teams
- Generating and tracking purchase orders
- Other sales administrative tasks as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree desirable
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Sales experience a plus
- Experience using e-books and other digital resources in libraries a plus

Regional Sales Manager Latin America
We are looking for an outgoing, detail, quality and customer-oriented person, with a world view and inherent interest in learning, to join our team. This is a full-time position located in our office in Palo Alto, CA, USA.
The purpose of this position is to develop and execute on a business and travel plan to maximize sales of ebrary products in Latin America in FY 2010, and to afeguard renewal revenue and generate new business to deliver against agreed quarterly and annual sales targets across our four product groups.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Acquire and maintain a demonstrably thorough knowledge of the electronic information publishing industry, its products, markets and trends and ebrary’s part in it so that customer and reseller relationships are consultative. Keep abreast of changes to ebrary’s product offering and develop rapidly expertise in newly released products.
- Understand the online information requirements of customers and prospects within assigned territory/sector so that presented proposals are viewed as valid solutions.
- Develop, agree and work to a territory business and travel plan to deliver sales goals and growth targets within expense budgets in order to contribute towards departmental and company goals.
- Prepare, present and agree renewal proposals to resellers and customers in a timely manner so that subscriptions renew in the months they fall due in assigned territory.
- Discover new sales opportunities through gap analysis, event participation and customer visits. Add qualified, new prospects and opportunities with existing customers to salesforce.com pipeline on a weekly basis and advance these to ensure healthy levels of new sales in assigned territory. Attend product briefings and be aware of the sales opportunities exposed by product updates and new releases.
- Implement professional sales skills to develop new opportunities to progress pipeline opportunities through the sales cycle to a successful close.
- Ensure that the total potential sales value of pipeline opportunities multiplied by the ability to close the sales exceed the annual sales target to enable effective forecasting within the department.
- Participate in weekly "pipeline" calls to keep manager informed of progress towards annual goal and complete on action points and next steps agreed at the meeting.
- Ensure efficient and timely flow of opportunities, prospects and accounts through the sales process and ensure that these are accurately represented in salesforce.com. Be responsible for the accurate and timely setup of prospect trials and customers’ accounts in salesforce.com.
- Be responsible and accountable for an agreed T&E budget at the beginning of the FY.
Requirements:
- Minimum: Bachelor's degree plus experience in preparing, arranging and delivering effective sales presentations, resource demonstrations and product training to resellers, academics and information professionals. Good social skills and a desire to meet customer needs and sales targets. Fluent in Spanish.
- Desirable: Thorough knowledge of the electronic information publishing industry, its products, markets and trends. Three years sales experience with increased responsibilities. Developed European and/or emerging market language skills, Portuguese a plus.
